Ok, I have seen pictures of these and they look cool, but what is the story behind the 1600 auto knife. I see them occasionally and they are very pricey, I know they were made quite some time ago. Also, does Smith make an OTF knife now that is similar and therefore maybe a little cheaper?

Several years ago, the 1600 along with other model numbers were manufactured by Taylor Cutlery for S&W. I have one brand new in the box along with a model 1500 also NIB. I have not kept up with their value and would be interested in what the current value would be or what you see them going for. FWIW I'm not interested in selling mine. You can find knock-offs at practically any gun show pretty cheaply. I picked one up not too long ago for 20 bucks.

COOL......Cool

What is more COOL than the Joker's favorite knife. It was used in the movie The Dark Knight?

I have one somewhere, Bought it too long ago to remember what I paid. I have used it from time to time, but not carried or abused it.
