Take it easy on me i am new to this sight...lol..I just recieved a .38 special model 10-6 serial number c833xxx is marked on the bottom of the stock. Inside the cylinder the numbers 44954 with a capitol E below it. It is blued with factory walnut stocks. There are also two screws on the right side none on the left. It's a 4 inch barrel ( think it's called a bull barrel as it is not tapered). The front sight is tapered(or ramped). On the right side it marked made in the U.S.A., Marcas Registradas, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, Mass. with the Smith & Wesson logo between the stock and cylinder. Any info would br greatly appreciated. I.E. approximate date of manufactor, approximate value, etc. It is about 95%. Thanks a bunch

Hello,
1966 looks like a probable shipping date with that serial#.
Excuse my manners, I forgot to say "Welcome to the Forum"

The Model 10 is a workhorse and a staple of the S&W line-up. Without seeing photos, and going only by your description, your 10 should sell in the $400-$575 range depending on geographic region. Original box and goodies would yield the higher end of that range. 10s are fairly plentiful, so retiring on the sale of one is improbable. Great shooters, and very dependable.

great info..thank you for the response. I live in North Texas so the location is great...lol...I paid 425 for it, so it seems like a fair price for no box. It is pretty clean though. I mailnly bought it for home defense for my wife. I dont think she could chamber and shoot the 12 gauge..hahaha
