From a 1973 catalog. The first page shows the code system used to describe a holster, the next 3 pages are a tri-fold out meant to be read across all 3 pages. There are probably size codes not shown but many popular handguns are listed. As Mr. Roy Jinks says, I hope this helps. ( when he says it, it always does help )

Someone help me out here. I have an old leather holster that has the following 2 numbers: The first no. is 27 and the 2nd one is 34. It has the S&W logo on the holster and looks like it's for a 4" barrel. Can you figure this out by looking at this chart? I'm feeling really ignorant about now. I posted about this holster earlier and no one could give me an answer.

Look across the top of the page- model B (which means black) 27 is a Sure-Lock Model. Then look down that column and find the size code 34- 4” K frame revolvers.
The type is small and hard to read; familiarity helps.

Thanks turnerriver, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't read that small type. That old holster is almost new and in great shape. Thanks again.

1970 and 1978 catalog scans attached as PDF files.

That darn orange 1970 chart is hard to read in the original.

Today I found a new old stock felt lined B49 36 W. Couldn't pass it up for $25. I have many guns that will fit it. That's my K22.
Thanks for posting..

Turnerriver,

I have a S&W B37 32 holster that looks to be for a 2" gun. The chart that you posted goes from B36 one one page to B38 on the next page. B37 seems to be lost in the fold. Could you tell me what revolvers this fits?

Thanks you,

My apologies, I did cut off that model number 37. This was the Off Duty model holster, available in black only and was a modified paddle holster with a retaining snap on the bottom. No matter what the model the size codes- the last two digits- are the same, size code 32 was for 2” K frame models 10 & 12.
