A buddy was looking at this one, lots of red flags on the listing so he only bid it up so much.

Case

From the pics provide by handejector's link, my opinion is the case interior is typical of a clamshell case that had a gun stored in it. A cham shell ALWAYS has gouges at the rear sight, front sight, and possibly in the cylinder recess. The exterior is different situation! Removing the tape will leave visual evidence of the tape and the sticker will probably leave remnants of the glue.
The only salvation for that case exterior is to sand and refinish the case.

unless I overlooked it, I never did see any picture showing the actual model stamp on the gun.is it really a 29-1 ?

Well....you may be able to have an engraver hide/cover-up the "electro pencil" work but that would open up another can of worms

FWIW I paid nearly twice as much for a 29-1 last month. Amoskeag rated the metal condition at 98%. Mine did not come with "Coke" grips, but did include a letter and presentation case in good condition.

^^This. Yes, the electro pencil sucks; but that's the lowest price I've seen in a LONG time on a 29-1. Nothing wrong with the inside of the case. They all have some wear to the flocking. Don't refinish the inside. It's original. Try to clean up the outside and contact jcelect if you can't live with it.
