Found a local ad selling a 1957 Model 30 no dash for $300. Anyone know if this is a good deal or not?

From the ad:
"1957 Smith & Wesson MINT model 30 NO DASH with pinned and recessed barrel , flat latch, and absolutely no wear on an original non reblued finish. see pics !!!Its box was destroyed in transit when i received it at my door step but gun was shipped in a padded zipper case and was not harmed at all. This is a good one for all collectors. It will simply decorate your collections. You should have this."

Well, gun was already sold to someone this morning. I was a bit too slow.

That gun was listed in Texas but the seller's ISP address put them in Kansas. Probably a scam

If thats the one listed on Texas Gun Traders, the guy is a known scammer.

That is where I saw it and called the guy out on it but of course they pack up their tent and just move to the next street corner.

There was a guy that would post on our local sites here Colt Pythons at ridiculously low prices usually in the $600-800 range in the box. He was using pictures and descriptions from live Gunbroker auctions. When you called he was out of state and wanted You to send a Western Union transfer lol. I also placed a wanted to buy ad for some 32 rimfire had a guy contact me from out west he sent pictures from a 5 year old ad when I called him out on it he never replied back. Beware people it can work both ways. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
