Smith You Most Recently Fired?

A new-to-me M25 Mountain Gun bought off this forum about a month ago.
Pretty dang nice for an ILS revolver (the ILS was removed by the P.O., thank you :) )

About 100 practice rounds of 158 Gr SWC through an early 4 digit Chief's Special. For a long gun about 100 rounds through my Russian SKS.

Made a range trip today to chronograph some .357 loads. I ran three different loads through a 2 1/2" model 66-1, a 4" 686, a 4" Python, a 6" 19-3, and a 5" 627-5. The 13.5 grain 2400 load with a 158 grain SWC shot just fine in all guns, but I was a little disappointed with the extreme spread of my light loads of 231 and the same 158 grain SWC. Need to investigate this as it has always been a good load accuracy-wise.

Sunday I went with some friends to their gun club. I heated up my 10-5 and my 638-3. They were using their 640s. Our carbon footprint is much larger as a result and the world is a better place.

Probably my 4'' M29-3 a few days ago. 12 rounds of 21 grains of 2400 under a 255 Keith- Basically there is nowhere to shoot around here so I go out in the national forest to a big bar pit and shoot 12 rounds at a 1'x1' rock we set out at about 200 yards and GTFO before the FWC shows up. Using my car roof as a rest I went 5/5 on the first cylinder on the big rock and made some other shots at other targets at various distances. I'm finding frequent practice of 8-12 shots a session does way more for me than 50 rounds in one session on the weekend.

M639, 150 rounds of Winchester WinClean 9mm. Nothing like shooting before lunch.

Wensdays range session was a .45 ACP and Auto Rim outing. My 22-4, 625-4 model of 1989 and 625-8 JM all got a good workout.

Model 642 and Model 60, tomorrow the last Smith shot will be a recently acquired Model 12...

Last Thursday. My 686-4 and some 158gr. lead. The steel plates laughed at me several times.
I was wondering, was it me? Was it the gun? Was it the heat? Were the planets not aligned?
Got home, cleaned the gun and noticed the rear sight was way off. (Maybe I'll accuse the guy I was shooting with.)
Anyway, now I've got to go back and try again. Ain't that terrible?

Most Recently Fired

I just fired my recently refinished 681PC with some 158 gr. .357 loads i'm putting together. Worked very nicely. That is one fine revolver.

A .357 kinda day

Ran a couple hundred rounds through my M65, pre-27 and new (to me) M66 this morning. After a few dozen rounds through the M66, I've decided it needs Pachmayrs. The M65 was a pleasure to shoot (as always) and the big pre-27 soaked up a lot of the Magnum beating all on its own.
