Tomorrow night starting at 7pm the 40th Anniversary of Saturday Night Live begins with the Red Carpet show leading into the anniversary show. ;)
A lot of the original cast is suppose to be there and when I say original we're talking 1975 when it started.:eek:
How many here remember the Original Blues Brothers or the Coneheads?
Back then if you didn't have a place to be you were somewhere to watch SNL!
That was water cooler talk on Monday morning!;)
I"ll be tuned in for sure! ;)

VH1 is running the old shows now and I'm laughing my tail off, laughing at them and laughing at times as well! :D

They started playing Snl on Friday and I have had the TV on since then so I could catch it as I went through My Day.
It sure brought back some great memories.
 
Watched two early episodes and now they're playing The Blues Brothers. :D

I love the George Carlin skit about the telephone ringing.

That dates me. Lets see who else remembers that one ;)
 
He did the "bacon" line.

The other day I was buying a pack of bacon (in a list of groceries) for a friend who has medical issues in the family. I was checking all the packs for the "best", and staff came to ask if i was ok (they know I'm a stage 4 guy, and I have "gaps", this certainly qualified as one). Carlin's skit implication that they bury the worst slice in the middle of the pack rings home ...

And then the vocals. Remembering a time I could go back to ....
 
I first started watching it in the Dana Carvey/Mike Myers days. Phil Hartman, Kevin Nealon, Daryl Hammond, Dennis Miller were on at the same time I think. I liked those guys much better than the newer crew.

Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, etc were before I got into it. I've seen a few of the old clips, they were hilarious. I remember an Akroyd Bassmaster blender skit.

That's when I started watching on a regular basis too. Those were some talented people. I haven't watched the show in over 10 years now as the cast was either boring or just awful. I've seen reruns of the original shows with Dan Akroyd, Belushi, Eddie Murphy, etc.... those were really good shows too. Phil Hartman doing Bill Clinton... hilarious.

I remember back around 1977-78 watching a skit about carbonated douche with my then-girlfriend and her folks.

Talk about awkward!
 
Yeah, I can't wait. I watched last night, and it brought back a lot of laughs.

Can't forget Rosanne Rosannadanna. I still have a Gilda Radner tie hanging in the closet that I wear on special occasions. Jane, Bill and her were the best. "Jane, you ignorant slut." Hahaha.

about saturday night life? y'know, some of us don't go out and have fun on saturdays because we're too busy napping or reloading...what? Saturday night LIVE? oh, that's very different, never mind..

Interviews with some of the originals and current cast as well!.....:D
 
It was a great show,started to get a little drawn out in the end though!:rolleyes:
I was a little disappointed that they didn't show more of the classics from the past like Father Guido Sarducci and of course Eddie Murphy's Buckwheat and Mr. Robinsons Neighborhood skits.
All in all I think they all did a pretty good show in tribute of 40 years of Laughter!;)
