And I bought it. (On line) It's NOT the one with the pretty gold-colored frame and barrel. It's the one they call burnt bronze, but new, it was a good price; about $175-200 less than MSRP, total. I wanted the LCR in 327 Federal Magnum, but this will do. I weighed six Buffalo Bore H&R magnum +P, 100 gr. cartridges, 2.3 ounces and loaded the gun should be 16.2 ounces, according to the specs. My grandson will have no problem with it; me, well, it's gonna be a fine CCW. With PA tax and FFL fee it will be well under six bills. Free shipping and extra warranty. Hopefully I'll get it this coming week. He has about 3 1/2 weeks of vacation before his senior year, and I want to get him out as much as I can afford the bullets. He loves the .22magnum in anything I have, as much as anything but 44 mag.
I know most of yinz don't care for Rugers (it's a S&W Forum), but I think I'll be happy.

Nice find! I don't know why these are so scarce. Maybe they are finally ramping up production.

LCR is a great carry revolver. If you aren't familiar with them, add a couple drops of light oil in the oil port.

Congratulations of sort of finding what you were looking for. I hope you both enjoy it. I remember when I was a senior in high school and it seemed like my world's sun pretty much rose and set on my .44 Magnum. Great memories, but I don't care much for .44 Magnum recoil anymore. I still have the gun and shoot it at least once a year.

Have fun with the grandson and the new Ruger! 😊

Glenn, I'll definitely send a couple pictures once I get it. It's definitely different, but a heck of a lot nicer looking than that one in mostly bronze. Seriously, it's ugly! I'll try to send a picture of the photo. Most people actually kinda hate it! Hang on,
I'll see what I can do.

This is the one I ordered yesterday morning. They're both the same physically, but there's not as much color as the other one, thank goodness! Being a light weight, and the 45,000# chamber pressure, I suppose 327 Fed Mag may be a clue why they didn't use this platform for that caliber. I have a GP100, 6" in the 327. It has the kick of maybe a 22LR from a K22 6". This one isn't all that bad looking; at least it doesn't have pink stocks! It may be ok. Function trumps all.

Wow.

That finish… I just have to ask. Ruger, why not black??

"Ruger, why not black??" Glenn

Perhaps just to be different? Taurus seems to do their designs, etc., different also, but even if you get one with no problems the quality doesn't seem to compare with Ruger or S&W or Charter Arms. I bought a CA and Taurus Revolver and got lucky with both. The actions definitely are of inferior quality it seems to me but they work. I think it's the CA that one needs a come-along to cock the hammer all the way back! Double action is much easier.
I think I'll keep an open mind on the looks of this new Ruger. I think it'll help if I can keep my point of impact on maybe a paper plate at 25 yards I'll be happy. At near 14 ounces loaded I won't consider this one "built like a tank."
As stated above, these are sure hard to find. So at 03:30 nobody had to twist my arm. The price sure helped me, too. If I show pics of my range report targets, pay no attention to the powder burn marks around the bullet holes!

Almost looks like simulated wear to get multi-tone finish............ Pocket camo!

LCR = little crappy revolver. Bought one when they came out in .22 had to send it back to get reworked cause it would sieze up in fast double action. Then sold it. If I need a J frame sized gun, I'll buy a J frame. Sorry. Aside from that, I do LOVE me some Rugers.

Agreed.

The LCR inspires about as much confidence as a Chinese staple gun.

The SP101 on the other hand, is built like a tank. The LCR was an answer to a question nobody asked.

After a long search, my wife decided that her EDC would be a Ruger LCR .22 Magnum. She has trouble racking slides and isn't a big fan of recoil, so the LCR was the answer for her. Compact, easy to operate, minimal recoil, and acceptable .22 Magnum punch (not my first choice for a self defense round but she likes it)...she shoots it well and has zero issues with that revolver. I did add a LaserMax red laser and changed the front sight to an XS Yellow Dot.

BTW: I kind of like the bronze finishes that are on some newer firearms. My BIL has a Tikka T3 Lite Veil Wideland rifle in .300 WSM that has the bronze and black hardware. Pretty cool!

I picked it up today and it actually has a nice trigger; pretty smooth for a non Smith & Wesson. The PA State Game Land range is closed for maintenance (I hope) till next week. Tomorrow I'm hoping to pick up a Mustang GT rag top. My friend pointed out it has the premium package, meaning if it was new
I'd have to take out a mortgage. Anyway, here's a picture of the LCR. It's not bad-looking in person. Keegan and I will have a go with it next week. I have a bunch of 32 longs for now.

I don't disagree based on what I've read, but there's only one iconic J frame that'll go in many a pockets or on many a belt, a Smith & Wesson snub nose
