I bought a used Savage 223 rifle scope/combo from a friend and decided it looked too plain and plastic. Great little rifle; fun and relatively cheap to shoot and accurate. So after some sanding, and priming and watching alot of YT video warriors this is what I ended up with:

The netting was repurposed from a bag of oranges I saved from the trash can. Stretched tight with wooden clothes pins around the barrel and stock in about 4-8 inch areas. I also took some poster board and cut shapes in it and sprayed through the holes in the poster board to avoid over spray. Also a peice of gutter guard from HD. I also bought some matte finish clear to over spray the entire thing but didn't. Once it dried overnight I rubbed it with a soft clean rag to remove loose overspray.

I cleaned with denatured alcohol, sanding pad, taped up cleaned again, light layer of primer then black. Hung in my garage and started one end to the other. I cold blued the bolt and made a "custom" cheek riser out of a 2x2 and two finishing nails.

At least it's original. Anyone else try their hand with rattle can gun art?

BTW the rifle loves Nosler .223 40 grain balistic tip ammo, 3700 fps. Can't wait to hit a coyote with it. :D
