& want to replace it with a S&W from the Performance Center. I want a 44mag. & I am looking at the - 629 .44 Magnum Hunter & the 629 Stealth Hunter. Other then a slight difference in size & appearance is there any major differences that I am not seeing?

Looking for some opinions & thoughts on my choices or suggestions. The gun will be used for hunting & target shooting.

Thanks in Advance.

I vote save the money and get this...they just look right with the full lug. Leupold makes a real nice dual dovetail mount for them that also looks right if you want to put a scope on it.

Product: Model 629

I know the performance centers are great, but I love my reg old 629 Classic with a 5" barrel. Perfect barrel length for accuracy, taming recoil, and weight. I can pop a milk jug and 100 yardswith the factory sights, and that's good enough for me. Would be a great hog hunter.

I would second the recommendation for the 629 Classic. I have the ported 6.5-inch barrel with a red dot on it and it is a tack driver.

i have a number of 44's among them the 7.5"stealth hunter....its a pleasure to shoot and everyone that has seen it loves it!

5" Classic easy to carry and wear a holster in a vehicle. Accurate, strong and a great action.

I have a 629-3 5" and love it.
