So I've got close to 1000 rounds through my rifle so far. The ONLY complaint I have, is the red dot is too big for any kind of precision at a distance (50+ yards). My thought is sticking a scope on it and putting a 1 o'clock mount for my Aimpoint. Thoughts on this?

I bought the gun for some indoor bowling pin matches this winter and it's all 25-35 feet away. Obvoiusly not needing a magnifying optic. However outdoors is always fun to sneak out to 100 yards with a 22 or if I decide to sling it when I'm beating around in the woods it'd be nice to take game at a distance.

Anywho, anybody using one on their set up?

use quick disconnect mounts and just swap between your red dot and scope depending on the distance. thats what i do.

Something like this crossed my mind

ya ive seen similar setups on some of the competition guns. i thought about it as well but didnt want the extra weight just for a range toy.

I use QD mounts on my 10-22 so I can quickly switch between iron and glass.

The UTG mounts were about $20, and the scope holds zero nicely.

My 15-22 is pretty much dedicated to a scope, but it's 2-7x32 and I can acquire small targets pretty fast.

So I've thought about a red dot magnifier with a flip mount. The magnifier will flip out of the way if not needed, or flip into position when needed....... Now to find a reasonably priced magnifier.

Don't know how many scopes and red dots I've gone through - kinda fond of the 1-4x scope instead. Also like turkey scopes that are 1.5-4x on AR type. Thick crosshairs make for quicker target acquisition, for me at least.

Most of mine are on quick release so that I can move them around amongst different platforms.
