So much for the plan.

GT Distributors had their Glocktoberfest this weekend. I went with the intent of picking up a G42. While waiting for my number to be called I look in the used case and see a M&P357 Police trade in. Interesting I thought, then behind it I see a pristine M&P45 with three mags at a decent price. Up on top of the case was a sign that said "Take an additional 10% of all used guns" Now there is a dilemma, $40 off a nice used M&P45 to replace my fire loss or $5 off a G42.

The G42 will have to wait until next payday.

Oh, the M&P has factory night sights, box, and everything but the small grip.

I have seen and dry fired the G42. Just not impressed as there are other similar sized guns available, many in 9mm, at a better price point. Most were very surprised the 42 was not available in 9mm, but Glock will probably soon make that happen.

It and a companion I pick up to go with it:

Good snag. I think I sound like a broken record sometimes but I really like mine. Doesn't get carried as much since I got the shield but it shoots great.

Well, that was better than getting there and finding out all the 42s were sold out, no good deals on anything else, and all the time you had to wait. I doubt you'll regret the 45. Good score.

There were 3" 64s and 65s, 5906s, 36s, 60s just to name a few of the S&Ws in the used case. I could have spent a couple grand easy just in the used case. The guy behind my scarfed up the Nickled 59. I don't want to give anybody an infarction so I won't say what he got it for.

The rumor mill is churning about Glock releasing a 9mm 42 at the beginning of the year. Sounds like you made the right choice on several fronts.
