So what do you shoot CB Caps in?

I bought some Aguila .22 Colibri rounds at the gun show Saturday. I tried them in three .22 rifles. Didn't want to feed in my Remington Apache 77, didn't want to eject from a new Marlin 60, and it made no hole in the paper (from 10') in another 60. It fires well (1 1/2" low at 20') from an H&R 949 revolver, but it's pretty loud with a short barrel. I don't have a bolt action .22, which I guess lots of folks use.

What brand of CB Cap have you had the best luck with, and in what do you shoot it?

A gun.... :)

All joking aside, something like a Winchester 67,62, 61, Remington 510,511, 512, 514, 341, 41, 41P or 33... or any good bolt gun with a long barrel really that can feed them or a single shot. The super colibris will come out any long barrel every time, but the regular colibris may or may not- be vigilant or switch to a fixed action rifle with carbine length barrel.

They cost to much to shoot- so after I fired just five rounds, I just look at the pretty boxes. :)

It's not much louder, but it gives just a bit more power to maker certain to get to the end of a long barrel.

I guess I'm a very frugal shooter and remember when ammunition didn't cost as much as a steak dinner for a family of four.

I haven't had any problems with either the Colibri or Super Colibri in any of my rifles. Accurate, too, out to about 20 yards. I.e. accurate enough for practical applications.

I haven't tried the Colibri as of yet, but in my Browning BL-22, I shoot CCI CB Shorts all the time. Never a hitch, it'll feed anything. I'm looking forward to trying the Colibri, maybe I can set up an indoor range!

S&W Model 622 works well single shot. I use mostly CCI CB Long in the 622, they will feed from the magazine by pulling the slide back manually. I use the Colibri in my Mod 63.

CCI .22 CB rounds in my Marlin 39M lever action are virtually silent. The only noise is the sound of the hammer hitting the firing pin. It's neat to hear the bullet hit the target when the noise at the muzzle is gone.

Ditto

I use the Colibri in a K22 to shoot varmints in a live trap. No chance of the bullet doing damage to the trap. Larry

I hunt squirrels using these tiny poppers in a K22. They're also good for instruction-

Most autos tell ya they won't function with anything but Long Rifle cartridges. Most autos don't have much of an 'extractor'. They work for chambered , unfired rounds , but that spring loaded little hook just keeps the empty against the bolt till it hits the ejector. It's the blowback/gas that provides the primary extraction. Manually operated rifles have more of a real 'extractor' in them.

I use Colibris all the time , indoors in fact. I shoot them in my Bearcat , Colt .22 NF , S&W 17 , 18 and 63 as well as my Marlin 39 and Savage 72 falling block single shot.

I shoot the Super Colibris out of a new model Stevens Favorite. Good short range 'rabbit in the garden' round in the city. No noise at all.

CB caps and shorts are the main fodder for my 63 in it's primary role as back yard critter dispatcher. My neighbor thinks it's a cute little gun, not like those big nasty "automatics"

Marlin 39A, never a problem, as posted earlier you only hear the hammer fall.model 617 4" does really well with the little rounds as well, just slightly more noise

Have run both thru a pair of J.C. Higgins .22 bolt action single shots, as well as Winchester CB shorts. Perfect for elimination of vermin in the backyard as well as plinking! Dale

i used to shoot cci cb longs in a 27in barrel winchester model 67.
years ago when i lived in the country i actually capped a wood chuck at 80 yards from my kitchen window. i had to drop it in on him like a mortar round but i used to shoot that rifle so much back then that i pretty much knew the trajectory of those rounds.
guess i was a little bit lucky too ;)

When I shoot the Mod 34 and 18 with the grandkids I use the colibris and super colibris. They are low noise and don't bother the neighbors. They are louder in a revolver than in a rifle but the noise is just a little louder than a pellet gun. In my experience the colibris will not cycle an auto pistol or rifle. I guess the supers would be OK for a bolt or pump action rifle but have not tried them.

I shoot CCI CB Longs in all my non-auto .22s, but they're most fun in my Henry H001T. It holds a bunch of them, and they're extremely quiet. Small spinners at 15 yards or so are a blast.
