I have been working on guns since I can remember. Only recently have I concentrated on S&W revolvers. I refinish and rebuild just about anything someone needs worked on. I have just recently started hot bluing.
I love metal work! My profession was a machinist and mechanic. On some guns it takes up to 30 hours of metalwork just to be able to blue. Some people just can't believe the amount of work it takes. I can't charge the hours that I put into a gun, no-one could afford it! I do everything by hand, no buffers or grinders.
I just finished a CZ45 for a lady who said it was her fathers gun handed down to her. He passes away recently. The gun was in really bad shape. It took 26 hours of work. She came to pick it up yesterday and opened the rug and started to cry. She said her Dad would have loved it! She asked me how much and I lied and charged her $100. She gave me a hug! I guess I now know why I work on guns!!!

Not to mention all the chemicals, brushes, patches, specialized tools, rags, blah blah blah that you have to incur the cost of. Guys who don't do this sort of stuff have no idea!
