I become enamored with the strangest things.
Wanted a soft gun case for my new Benelli like the redhead I have for my Rem 1100. Love the 60's cheesy faux leather look! Was a little shocked to find leather soft cases start around $250 these days and evidently faux leather is way out of style.
Ebay to the rescue. Found a new old stock 54" long with a sears label on it. Probably made by redhead or Allen. Don't think there was ever a gun in it. Won the bid for $41 plus $12 to ship. Way classier than some new nylon case!

Newest on the left.

For several years I bought every used rifle or pistol soft case I found for $4 on rifle and $2 on pistol. I moved about 2 1/2 years ago and was still about 20 rifle cases short and about 15 pistol cases long. (have switched to hard cases on handguns anyway).

A number of the long cases were for carbines, and the buttstocks stuck out. It was still better than wrapping in blankets! I sold 10 of the smallest pistol cases and am still acquiring rifle cases, I can sell them latter!
