I am a dealer. However, I do not have a showroom, and am not open to the public. Local pickup is not available. I am downsizing my FFL operation. Items listed are being cleared out of my inventory. The majority of my sales are via my website. Due to increased fees and taxes on Gunbroker, I currently will not list firearms on their site.

Buyer should reply with the post "I'LL TAKE IT." Please follow up with a PM.

Shipping only to FFL-01 Dealer or FFL-03 C&R.
I will need a copy of the FFL sent via E-mail or a paper copy mailed.
Thanks, John JW Specialty Consulting

I am a dealer, this is from my personal collection. I don't think I have ever shot this one, but it has been fired before. Very clean. The two worst items on this revolver are: (1) some scratches on the right side near the logo, and (2) a small scar on the frame just in front of the foreward most sideplate screw. There is some bluing loss at the high points and slightly on the muzzle. On the right top edge of the front sight there is some bluing loss. And there is patina & light rust freckles on the backstrap. Bore is bright and clear with good rifling. I don't think the gun has been reblued because the trademark roll mark is crisp and clear as well as the lettering on the barrel - however if it has been reblued the gunsmith did a very good job.

If this revolver did not have the scratches on the side plate and the small scar on the right side of the frame, this gun would be considered excellent for c.1915 production.

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (SCSW), 1996 edition, this is a Model 1905 third change. Note heat treated cylinders did not start until the fourth change, so if you fire this revolver only use standard pressure .38 special ammunition.

Lockup is nice and tight on all cylinders and timing is good. Grips are outstanding, just a few flattened checkers. Medallions are very nice. One grip has the serial number in pencil, faintly visible in pictures. Trigger and hammer have nice case hardened color. The ejector rod has moderate bluing loss, and has what I think is called the "LERK" (large ejector rod knob). Overall a very nice piece.

Topstrap is marked in two lines:
SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PATENTED
OCT.8.01.DEC.17.01.FEB.6.06.SWPY.14.09.DEC.29.14

Right side of barrel is marked: 38 S&W SPECIAL CTG
Left side of barrel is marked: SMITH & WESSON

Barrel length is 6-inches

Includes: Revolver and generic plastic gun case (not shown).
