After mounting a 2X7 scout scope and trying 7 different load @ 50 yards I could only get a 5" group with my best load……….
No I'm not new to reloading, been doing that for 50 years and have had a few tricky guns that I was able to figure out by being consistent and changing one component at a time until I saw positive results.
I have a Marlin Cowboy in 45 Colt that will embarrass the S&W, I'm glad I kept it.

Often had trouble with .45 Colt caliber. Cylinder throat dimensions vs bore dia, also too large case capacity for low pressure powders available post black powder. I see magnum primers necessary to light random placement of said powder charge.
