**SOLD** Pre War S&W LEO revolvers, 2nd Model 44 HE, St. Louis PD 5" M&P .38 -$700
Still thinning out. Here we have 2 documented, nice pre-war Law Enforcement guns. They are not listed anywhere else at this time. So first to say they take it, gets it. Shipping will be an additional $30, FTF is fine too (I am in North Texas - Plano to be exact).
First is a 6-1/2" 2nd Model .44 Hand Ejector, blued in .44 special, S#36488 that shipped 8/23/1933 to the Washington State Patrol. It is in very good condition but exhibits typical holster wear for a police revolver. It is all matching except for the pre war diamond checkered magnas that are numbered to another gun. This gun went back to the factory at least once. The Smith & Wesson Historical Foundation had a record of it going back on December 4th 1939 to repair the cylinder, reblue and "put in first class condition for use on patrol duty". That document as well as the factory letter will be included.
The .44 HE 2nd Model is SPF to AustinTexas. Thanks, Earl
It has a factory installed lanyard ring (they relocated the serial number to the grip frame when they did it), serial number stamped left grip frame, Diamond B mark on left grip frame and under barrel, Star mark on bottom of square butt, #36488 on barrel, cylinder, frame, butt. Excellent bore, great timing, lockup and action. Like most Washington State Patrol revolvers, the WSP markings have been removed from the back strap as per their policy when removing the guns from service. Price is $1,200.
Next up is a 5" blued .38 Military and Police Model of 1905 Fourth change, S#532116 .38 Special that shipped to the St. Louis Police Department on October 3, 1927.
It's all matching and in pretty darn good condition for a revolver getting near the century mark. No factory return markings, appears to be original finish with typical holster and police wear - but not bad. It would have been there throughout the depression, prohibition, and gangster eras. This one has an excellent bore still with a great action, lockup and timing. The back strap is marked Police Dept. St. Louis, MO. with no issue number. Price is $700
I take both discrete PayPal gift payments (no mention of gun) or USPS Money Orders. I need to ship to an FFL (C&R of course ok) that takes transfers from an individual.
Thanks,
Earl
