On the fence about listing this one so I may pull this if my feelings change.
S&W did not make this one for very long- 696-2 L frame 5-shot 44SPL 3" inch barrel. I think it was less than one year. Pretty rare already. This one is from 2002.
This particular piece has undergone the 'Custom Carry Package' from S&W Performance Center. Done in 2004 by Vito himself.
Package included:
Glass Bead Stainless finish
Bob Hammer for DA only
Radius Trigger
Polish rebound
Polish rebound spring
Polish hammer stud boss
Detail lockwork surfaces
Stone hammer and trigger
Polish yoke bar bosses
Chamfer charge holes
Install trigger stop
Install duty action mainspring
Reset barrel and polish forcing cone
Extreme duty fixed rear sight and Aherns round out this great revolver. Originals are included as well as the box and all docs with the fired case from the factory.
Wonderful to look at/handle and a pleasure to fire. Carry it if you like or keep it as a range toy or a safe queen. Would be fine in any situation.
Pics will tell the story. There are some handling marks on the gun but nothing that horrible. Tons of dust in the pics, sorry about that. If you want more, let me know. I'll make sure to wipe down the gun a bit better.
