For Sale .. This Smith & Wesson Model 2 Army in .32 S&W Rimfire Long has been in my family since 1862. It is a six shot tip up revolver and the original holster is included. My 2nd Great Grand Uncle (James Elliot Williamson) carried this during the Civil War until he died at Camp Nelson , KY in August 1863. It has never been out of the family since he died. I have a complete list of every household that I can provide to the buyer. If you need more photos, please ask. I am 79 and used to play with this gun as a child. I have attached a photo of the Smith and Wesson letter I ordered back in 1986 as well as a photo copy of him in uniform, a photo copy of his obituary, and an affidavit signed by me attesting to the history of this firearm. I will have the affidavit notarized before shipping. The revolver appears in good condition with nice bluing when age is considered. It does open, close and the trigger and hammer function. Lt Williamson's father was in the War of 1812 and his Grandfather Elliott Williamson is an approved Revolutionary Patriot and I am a member of the Sons of the American Revolution under Elliott Williamson. Lt James Williamson is buried in the family mausoleum in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna, Ohio. When he died of typhoid in August of 1863, his brother hitched a horse and wagon and brought his body, clothing and possessions back to Ohio for burial. I have not cleaned the pistol for this sale and it is in original condition. As this is a pre 1898 pistol, I don't think I need to ship to an FFL so, I am not sure how I will ship it but, probably UPS if they allow it. Any advise is appreciated. I DOUBT THERE IS A MORE DOCUMENTED 159 year old, ONE FAMILY PISTOL FOR SALE TODAY. I have more photos which I will send too interested parties. Feel free to contact me for more information. $1995.00 plus shipping. Sorry but, I can not get two photos to rotate correctly.
