I am selling this for a family member. So, here is what I am told about this knife….It is an original WWII German Luftwaffe Paratrooper Knife. The blade is about 4” long. The spike is about 3 3/8” long. The overall length is about 13 ½” long. If you know of these knives, you know they work by flipping the thumb latch, and flicking the blade end outwards (gravity fed as well), thus presenting the blade. There is a proof mark on the spike base of the knife. You will also notice three (3) obviously created notches toward the end of the spike on the wood part of the knife. To me the blade does look to have been modified and sharpened. Given this is a WWII weapon, I would expect it to be that way. I am looking to get $440 shipped. You must be sure by purchasing this knife that YOU are legally allowed to own this.
