I was a bit surprised today to see some good deals among the auctions I was following. I don't think I'd find these at the lgs.BTW I'm not the buyer.

What do you think?

If I was just looking for a shooter or add a new caliber or size these seemed good. And maybe that is b/c I have been paying too much for my choices.

I have also seen a few nicer S & Ws selling for less than current average prices recently. It may be the economy in general, fewer people looking for non-NIB guns (which have been going for very high prices in my observations), or people saving up for the fall Tulsa show.

My heart just skipped a beat or three. I would be all over that. Nice guns with a great price.

Those are pretty nice. Most reports are that there's been a slowdown in gun buying, which actually makes it a good time to make a purchase. I think people right now are focusing on building up their ammo and reloading cache.

I get a decent deal on GB once in a while. Even scored few SUPER deals before. It happens. I don't see any slow down in sales of fine , desirable, out of production handguns. Sellers with nice , desirable handguns ,who are NOT desperate to sell ( or dont care if their sell or dont sell) are getting really good money for their stuff.

Yep, like the others have said there are good deals to be had. I bought a 64-5 K frame in very nice condition for less than $400. and was happy with the deal. Of course it is not a collector type gun, just a solid tight shooter. Also remeber to add about $50.00 to every deal there because of shipping and dealer cost.

I have sold on GB often..bought a few times. The cost of shipping & FFl fee
has to be considered. As long as you factor that into the Bid it can be a very good source of finding older s&Ws.

I had that 36 on my watch list out of curiosity. I have a blue 3" SB from 1957. I think that I have bought around 10 guns from there. I had 1 that was not so good (1911) I have done well for the most part. You just have to read watch, and ask questions. Check seller feedback also. The advantage of GB is there is stuff for sale there that you may never see come up for sale in your area. Anybody that goes there is aware that there are overinflated prices also on some guns. Bob

The very best GB scores so far: 1). SA Custom shop PC9404 long slide .45acp. LNIB for 1100.00 shipped. 1). Bob Chow 1960's Colt in 98% condition for 1000.00 shipped. 2). Unfired and boxed ( with original receipt ) 65-2 4 inch 420.00 shipped.

Wait and it will find you.

Another member this week inquired as to how much he should expect to pay for M18 and my response was if he could be patient in my experience from future purchases this year I thought that he could find one for $600, good condition with no extras as I have with both a -3 and -4. It looks like he wasn't looking that hard to have missed the one you have displayed. Very nice acquisition. If I had been looking I would have been in the bidding with you on this piece. Cheers

I've been warned by moderators about posting links to live auction listings. Is the rule different for Silver contributors?

Well that is a new one to me. I will delete the offending post.
