The mild winter has left me able to get some decent photos so far, and the wildlife and nature has been obliging.
This one I have been wanting to get for a while, it's on my way to my son's school so one day I took my camera along and got an angle I liked.
This little red squirrel has been hanging around the feeder, so far it has been playing well with the birds so as long as it does, it can stay.
I have a pair of downy woodpeckers, and they seem to come back every year, or their kids do. They tend to be a little skittish but always let me get a decent photo now and again.
The Chickadees are the most numerous birds out there, and if you can get them to sit still for a second they can give me a nice photo.
Last weekend we took my son to a workshop where he built a birdhouse, but they showed him how to make a birdfeeder out of a pine cone that is coated in a Crisco/ Cornflower mix or peanut butter and then dunked and rolled in birdseed. I had a small Nuthatch stretching upside down for it and a Chickadee coming in for a landing.
