Homeland Security Ignores Sequester, Orders Drones, Vehicles, 1.6 Billion Bullets

Why does DHLS need 7,000 fully automatic weapons and 1.6 billion rounds of ammo? Plus armored vehicals? I thin jk more than our second amendment is at risk folks....how long does he plan on being in office? Funny they are not answering to senators or congressman about whyn they need all this .........something to think about. American needs to wake up.

All fall under DHS. I assume that just between the Coast guard, the BORDER PATROL and the SECRET SERVICE there are enough LEO men for the 7k full auto ARs! Thats not even counting the INS.

The infamous 1.6 BILLION rounds are a contract that is spread out over 5 YEAR for a MAXIMUM of 1.6 BILLION rounds. That means 5 YEARS from now they might get all that ammo! You sign the contact today and lock in at todays prices.

Maybe the secret service uses those bomb proof tank things?

I read that the Iraq war used 6 million rounds a month... So that would be 72 million rounds a year for an all-out war.

1.6 billion / 72 million = Wow, my calculator doesn't have that many numbers, but it is enough ammo to supply a full blown war for over 22 years.

well lets do some math and start simple with AR style firearm running .223 ammo. With 7,000 automatic weapons if one magazine was fired thru each weapon, you would have just burnt up 210,000 rounds of ammo. Now lets say those 7,000 guns get sent out and each gun gets trained with once a week and with only ONE 30 magazine, they would burn up 10,920,000 rounds of ammo in a year. Again thats only if they only get used once a week and limited to 30 rounds a week. I could see why they may want that amount of ammo. Also take into consideration, that number is for EVERY caliber that those dept. uses, not just 5.56/.223.

How the government counts UNITS, and Years, and UP TO AMOUNTS, all for future supply train and best price from contractors.

From a different point of view . . . we have 12 million illegal aliens in this country. Not all of them came over here to assimulate, some don't even have a problem flying the flag of a different country on American soil. There is bascially three things we can do about it;

1. Do nothing, let 'em keep coming.
2. Make 'em legal with the wave of a political wand.
3. Send 'em back by force. If we force them back, the DHS ammo and a few armored vehicles might just come in handy.

For the record, I'm not convinced there is anything afoot....BUT, I fully believe that we as citizens should always be alert to any potential threats to our rights.

My feeling is our own government is a bigger threat to our freedom than any outside/foreign entity.

Yes exactly. Why are we just accepting this though? We let a few people in congress control a few million people. It makes no sense why we are just letting it all happen. These things drive me insane. People talk about a zombie apocalypse, but the fact of matter is they are the zombies, they just dont know it.
