Well did go to the gun store 10 miles from home and yes he did have the CSX e-series.

I got a chance to fondle it and try the trigger action..was not bad but was not great either....

Then he showed me the Sig P938. Trigger wise there is no comparison what so ever the 938 has the best trigger I have seen to date...Of course I have not seen all 8000 triggers on the market but this Sig is awesome.....and yes S&W it came home with me....

A 1911 style trigger is in a class of its own. Gotta compare apples to apples. Both the Sig P938 and P238 are great pistols. Nice choice!

I've had mine 8 years EDC, and not one single hiccup as far as function.
It came with an ambi safety, and carrying OWB at 4 o'clock, I discovered a problem which may or may not affect others. I move around my woodshop a lot, with tables and tool tops just about waist high. Three times in the same week, when I took off my holstered P938 to go to bed, I found to my horror I was walking around with the pistol cocked and UNLOCKED, because I apparently bumped the exposed outboard right hand safety off in my shop while maneuvering around those tools and benches.
Sig did not offer a single safety in their catalog for the P938, but the single safety in the P238 (380) catalog worked perfectly. If you order one, get the ball detent and spring with it. They are tiny, very quick, and disappear at the speed of light during the swap.

Other than that, no problems and the pistol has been a delight to shoot. The locked breech eases recoil, the extended 7 round mag gives a pinky grip making it easier to control and shoot accurately, the night sights are still clear and bright after eight years, it's nice and flat if you want to carry IWB or pocket, and as I said, not one single malfunction in eight years.

Well tonight I am working on releasing the safety after drawing the gun without the other side safety pinching my trigger finger...I shoot right handed and carry AIWB....If I could remove the safety on the right hand side I would but I don't think that is possible.

That's what I described above. Get the safety for the P238, which is left side only. Your ambi safety is in two pieces - the left side is lever and pivot pin, the right side is lever only. Easy swap, be sure to also get the detent plunger and spring, because they're cheap and fly away easily.

Sig P238 thumb safety lever (left side of gun only) #1200788-R
(phosphate black) $23.79
--------or--------
Sig P238 thumb safety lever (left side of gun only) #1200749-R
(White - actually kind of silvery) $21.25

Sig P238/P938 safety detent plunger #1200747 $8.58
Sig P238/P938 safety detent plunger spring #1200748 $8.58

I got my Sig parts at Midwest Gun Works
Sig Sauer P238 & P938 Parts
or Top Gun Supply.
Sig Sauer P238 Gun Parts (Page 2) - Top Gun Supply
Both are currently out of stock on the black safety lever, but they do have the silver one. You can also check Numrich Gun Parts or call Sig to send you one lever, plunger and spring.

Removal description here in post #5.

Enjoy your new pistol!

I acquired this Sig P238 some years ago and put the Crimson Trace laser sight on it. I refer to this pistol as my Turtle Gun for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As you can see from the target, it will really shoot.

My suggestion is that Sig should make this gun in Blue and White and make a licensing deal with Penn State to market it as the Nittany Lion Special. As Penn State has the most dues paying alumni of any university, Sig should be able to sell them by the rail car load.
