I would like to have the option to purchase an M&P where the ejection port spit spent casings out of the left side of the firearm for southpaws.

I'm new to firearms & my first purchase was the M&P 9c. My decision was definitely influenced in part because it was a 'truly ambidextrous' gun but it would be icing on the cake if I could purchase a slide w/ a southpaw ejection port.

On a side note, I hated dealers trying to push right-hand pistols on me & suggesting I just learn how to use it incorrectly i.e. using my pointer/middle fingers to use the mag/slide release when it was never intended to be used that way. Instead of wanting me to use a firearm incorrectly how about providing me one that is equipped for me.

I too am left handed and putting a semi auto in my hands is like watching a cub bear with a pine cone in his paws. I, like you, can only wish I could operate one as smoothly as a right handed person without having to move it from hand to hand.

I will say this about having the ejection port remain on the right side - it makes retrieving the live round from the barrel easier when racking the gun to remove it.

I have been dealing with this issue for my entire LE career, 38 years. I have learned to adopt to it but wish that someone would cater to left handers for once and do a ambi gun or a truly left handed model for the ones of us who are right sided.
