There must have been a stockpile someone let go out to the distributers, I just found and picked up 2 boxes of CCI at $10 a box. I haven't seen them that cheap since the early 90's. I'm hoping to get some more soon.

Just picked up 5 boxes of Rem. SPP from Natchez last night at $30 a box. They ran out fast though. LPP did this a couple months back. I was seeing them quite often. Now, they are really hard to come by. Guess it goes in spurts.

$10-15.00 a box is getting back to reasonable levels.

This $25 to $30 a brick business isn't going to get me to part with cash anytime soon for name brand primers. I'll pay up to $22. for Win or CCI, but am just as happy with $16.00 a brick for Magtech or $13.50 for Russian "off-brand" primers when they get back in shortly. I have a standing order for primers at those prices, since I know how much my local pusher is paying for them- but he won't sell them to me for that since he can get more. When demand slows and he's got them sitting there, I'll buy.

If we can hold out a bit more, the high prices will end completely.

I feel kinda like George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life when there was a run on the bank. :p
If we stick together, we can ride this out!

Hate to be rude but the days of $22 primers are out the window. $10 to $15 is just not doable. It won't be long and the days of $30 primers is going to be nice.

I don't know where you're finding Wolff or Magtech for $16 or $13.50 a box of 1000, but you better buy a train load. One of the cheapest places to get primers I know about is powdervalley and they are $25 or so for Wolff.

Buy all you can at that price cause you ain't seeing that price any time soon.

They are selling the green and white box Russian primers (can't pronounce the brand) here at the gunshows for $19.00 per thousand, when they cost me $13.50 a brick by the case (tax included) in March of last year- picked up several cases then that I'll likely never shoot. CCI's around here are $26.00 a brick right now and will come down quite a bit more I expect as demand slows- as the dealer has quite a bit of profit built into them at that price, depending on where he gets them. ;)

I will recommend those green and white label Russian primers, as they seem to be every bit as good as Winchester or CCI (They have a red "M" in a circle trademark) and are very affordable, if bought by the case. I have shot nearly a brick of them so far- no complaints.

If you are in the Georiga/Florida area, I can tell you where to get them for those prices.

If we don't buy them at the high prices, they won't sell them.

Folks we have got to STOP the panic buying.

A lot of times, it's not panic buying. I know many people who shoot thousands of rounds a month or week in some cases. I shoot maybe 500 to a thousand a month. These folks buy them buy the tens of thousands, not boxes. As hard as they are to get, many are buying what they can get and paying what they have to. It's that or quit doing what you like. So, not all this is "panic" buying.

Natchez last night. None at the moment I know of. You either have to get on a list or backorder or just get lucky.

sp and sr primers

Went shopping at Cabellas in Kansas City on Monday I picked up 1000 small pistol and 1000 small rifle primers. No longer are you limited to only 300 primers.

Now that's funny because when Cabelas had them, they were a 300 limit. I could buy whatever was in stock at our local Bass Pro. Now, there's no limit at Cabelas and last week, our Bass Pro instituted a 300 limit. I shot more than that the next day. I told the salesman to keep his primers. Day late and a dollar short. I've never really cared for Bass Pro anyway.

I'll second that! STOP the panic purchases and the price will come down! I will shoot 22's before I pay those prices.

I'd be interested in knowing where to get some of those $19 primers if possible. I'm located in Atlanta.

Thanks,

Jason

earlier poster was correct about the $30/1000 primers. metals prices are on the way up again. by this time next year,$30 will be cheap. as far as the foreign primers are concerned, buy american.

I was at the range this week, no SP primers, but plenty of LP primers. I don't need any LP, but have been checking the shelves there for a month never any SPs. I thought of grabbing a box of LP, but then thought better of it since I don't really need them and they wanted 40 bucks a K. I decided let them keep them at least till I really need some, thats to high for me.

Wideners has Wolf LP for $29 per 1,000. They got them in and onto the website on Wednesday along with other sizes. I placed my order for SP and SR 556 which they are out of now.

As of this posting they do have them in stock...

I figure this sudden glut of ammo and primers is going to be short lived. As soon as the idiots in Washington finish destroying the Nation's health care system, they will begin working on anti firearms legislation and we will see another round of panic buying of guns and ammunition! I do not for one second believe the liberals are going to waste four years without giving gun owners grief.
