Makes me proud to see the USA getting back into space flight after 8 years of outreach.

I'm pleased to see it, too. The USA seemed to lose sight of its manned space exploration goals while concentrating a lot of attention on "scientific experiments" aboard the space station. And not only lost sight of the goals, but had a lot of what should have been NASA's funding diverted into other things.

America needs to return to being the leader, the pathfinder in space exploration and the technology we need to get us out there again.

Yes, NASA gradually drifted more into the realm of social engineering than interplanetary flight. Maybe it's now gradually returning to its original goals.
