A local gunshop had a bunch of these for 15.99 for a box of 100. Bought four box's. The box is marked 38SPL, 147GR, .357" GDHP stock number 4016, and I would assume that this means that they are made to work at 38 special velocitys. Speer does not have these listed on thier web site and I dont know if this means they are a new or a discontinued bullet. I plan on useing these in my snubbys. I plan on loading them over 5.0 grains of Unique with a WSP primer for J frame use. Anyone have experience with these bullet's?

I recently bought some 147 gr. GDHP sized .355" for the 9mm and plan to try them in my 940. Are you sure yours are .357? Do they have a crimp groove? It sounds like something that would be used in an auto.

Hi David, yes they are .357 dia and have a crimp cannalure. The box is marked .38 SPL. Im sure as they are a Gold-Dot they will work well. The .38 SPL marking leads me to believe they are intended for .38 special velocitys. Cannot find loading data for this bullet but am going to try the loads in the speer manual for the 146gr half jacket.
