My Revolver is a 7 shot....So I shot 7 times...I was only wanting to see
the speed of these loads....I know that they all work well.

I do carry the GD SB 38+P in my 37-2 and 640 No-dash. I like the other
loads too...along with the Winchester STHP 357mag. 145gr.

Did you put these in that order or is that the way the bullets come out, with increasing velocity after each shot?

I'm going to compare the two Short Barrel GD's (38spl +P and .357) ammo with each other but haven't had the chance yet ... just too damn hot in Phoenix right now (118 tomorrow).

How about the recoil between the two GD's? Did you notice a big difference? I've got a 2" .357 that currently runs the Short Barrel GD 135gr 38spl +P load but I'm interested in the GD .357 SB load. If there's not a big difference then why would we not use the .3547 load from GD? Thanks

CatnPhx...

I did put them in order....All of this ammo has been in my carry guns for the past 3-6 months +/-, I rotate my carry ammo out and shoot it up.

In the past I have recorded from my 3" 13-2......

1202 fps. with Rem.GS 357mag. 125gr. (high) 1128 fps (low)
1140 fps. with GD 357mag. 135gr. (high) 1039 fps (low)
1005 fps. with GD SB 38+p 135 gr. (high) 951 fps (low)

I got a 4" 13-2 and 4" 581....I will try all of these soon and post.

I did not feel any real difference between the two GD's.
I (by choice) will not & do not carry a 357mag. in any Revolver with a short Ejector Rod...Regardless if the Revolver is a Magnum...unless that is my only choice of Ammo.

I shoot alot of strong hand/weak hand...while moving in all directions.
These three loads are tops IMHO....I like the Winchester STHP 145gr.mag
too...Harder hitting and harder to find these days.

I am 5'9" 165lbs. and the Win. STHP out of my 4"581 can be a handful!!!!!! I got family in PineTop,Tuscon & Nogales.

Regarding recoil: I tried both the .38 and .357 in a 60LS, with the rosewood grips. Bad idea. The .357 was a bit severe with the wood grips (definite Magnum Hand after that). However, I am sure it would be more than manageable with a set of rubber or a bigger frame.

Thanks for the numbers, they are a bit closer than I would have thought.

Did you notice a big difference in recoil between the +P & the magnums with the Speer SB ammo?

No...I really do not feel any "big" difference in recoil with these two loads...I do shoot alot.

I spend alot of time on the range...playing & working. I am shooting about a 1000rnds. a month as of now (38's,9mm and 45acp)
