1. ***SPF***: 1917 "2nd Issue" Colt Officer's Model 38spl.
Here's a venerable senior member of Colt's great tradition as a maker of fine target revolvers: A "2nd Issue" Officer's Model. If only guns could talk....

SN is 4232XX dating this one to 1917 per Proofhouse.
Comes with a very good plus condition set of stocks, which probably are younger than the gun. I would grade this overall between NRA fine to NRA Excellent for pre-WWI firearms. This one has some blemishes (so will you if you make it to 83 years old) with some visible holster wear of the sides of the barrel, scattered superficial handling marks here and there, but with only a hint of wear of the leading edges of the frame and cylinder and of the high edges of the cylinder.

I am not a gunsmith, but action is smooth, timing is good, bore is squeaky clean, bright, and shiny with good rifling. No end shake.

The lower part of the, right side of the frame has some finish thinning just in front of and behind the trigger guard. The trigger guard and bottom of the frame have no significant wear or marks. The top and the bottom of the barrel are both without bluing loss or scratches. Deep loustrous original blue finish. Last patent date on the top of the barrel is July 4, 1905. Not a safe queen perhaps, but a nice example of early modern DA revolver quality from the folks who knew how to make them.

I have taken many of the pics in obtuse lighting to best show the mars, but included pics that show the true blue finish. The pics show the significant flaws. Questions? [email protected]

First "I'll take it" followed by an email shall have this one. Also offered at one other forum.

PRICE REDUCED TO $395 +++SPF+++ shipped from my FFL to your FFL or C&R, a cost to me of about $30.

Enjoy the pics!

2. *SPF* Here's a NRA Excellent plus early Postwar pre-model 17 K-22 Masterpiece with original diamond magnas numbered to the gun. SN dates this beauty to 1952 per SCSW3.

The case coloring of the hammer is fantastic. The case coloring of the trigger is excellent but not captured well in the pics.

Bore is squeaky clean and bright, rifling is sharp, action is smooth, timing is fine. No end shake.

It would be VERY difficult to improve on this 58 year old classic S&W 22LR target revolver. No box or docs.

Enjoy the pics!
