Hey! I saw a couple post , but most are talking about the A frame AR. I’ve had my AR for a couple years and honestly I have zero gun friends . I just used someone’s AR at the range and got gun envy ! I want to give my AR some love or buy a new one lol .

Anyone have any suggestions on a new hand guard ? Clearly with the new gas block it does cause issues .

Still new to ARs and I know you can upgrade/ change it so I’m open to suggestions as well.

Thank you, pic included btw model Smith and Wesson 10159

Thanks! I appreciate the welcome . I’m just worried I’m gonna get the wrong thing because of the gas block. So any carbine size would fit ?

I have a short one on mine you may be able to install a longer one that fits around gas block. Google images M&P AR 15 with Magpul handguards

Yah I’ve spent the last couple of days looking for a forum or context if there is one that goes over the gas block and I can’t find one. Just one that is cut for the a-frame sight

VISM AR15 M-LOK Carbine Handguard VMARMLCE Gun Model: AR-15, Handguard Length: 13.5 in I like this but can’t tell if it will fit over it or not lol

The Sport II will accept most parts that any mil-spec AR will.

If you're good with working on mechanical type stuff, or even decent and have some tools, you can put a low profile gas block on it and use any handguard you want.

IMO go Tactical Handguard

Welcome to the forum!
I originally bought the Magpul MOE .223/5.56 and put a Red Dot on it, expecting SD distances of ~50yd or so.

I added a 11600 M&P15 Tactical Carbine .223 REM/5.56 NATO from BGS. I put a Vortex 1-6x24 scope on it, though I probably should of gotten a 1x10 or 1x12 scope. I love the solid aluminum MP rail ( that also has Magpul MBUS Front and Rear pop-ups, If needed/preferred.

All said and done, IMO, it may be better to skip the plastic handrails in favor of aluminum. ;)

I went with a quadrail at first, but unnecessary weight. My Sport 2 is pretty much a Magpul advertisement, handguard, grip, stock. Magpul makes good stuff, PERIOD!

The bold print confuses me. I read it as a gb you recently installed. I'd ditch the gb and handguards. Look around at aluminum handguards which might appeal to you along with an accompanying low-profile gb. Very simple labor with a few basic tools and decent vise. Tons of how-to videos online. And you can always holler here for assistance.
