I was at one of the local gun pushers when I noticed a M&P in the case with a manual safety. It looked too small to be a .45 version, so I looked more closely. It was a full-size .40S&W with a manual safety. I know they are listed on the website, but this is the first one I have seen in real life. Interestingly enough, it didn't have a spot on the frame for the IL, perhaps S&W is moving away from availability of the IL in the M&P line.

Just thought I would pass it along.

I just looked at a picture of an M&P with the safety, and it looks like it's in the same exact place as the lock. Are you sure it wasn't?

I'm sure. I looked closely, it looked just like a .45 version with a safety, only smaller. The spot for the lock is taken up by the safety lever, hence there is no spot for the lock.

This is a relatively new feature on the M&P 9/40/357. I've seen a few of them out there in this area priced at around $640 which I would not pay for an M&P.
