Spotted this S&W and would like to know the model?

Looks like a early J frame, but I'm not sure of this. It says it is chambered in 38 S&W Ctg. Had a price of $599.00 on it. Looked to be in great condition. My question is more of which model it is.

Nope. Dwalt nailed it.
You can tell it is a 5-shot because the stop notches line up with the cylinder flutes - not in between them.
On a 6-shot the notches fall in between the flutes.

It appears to be plum colored to me when I inspected it.

I'm guessing it's a re-finish, and the bluing tank wasn't hot enough for the cylinder.

4 line address is a dead giveaway that it's a post war revolver. Stocks almost look like they are from the teens.

If it's a refinish $400 is a good number. If it was original probably half again that much.

It is definitely a reblue. The grips show lots of wear- the checkering is flat. $350-400 if ya gotta have it.
