I am wanting a clamp on the bench spotting scope stand. The best one I have seen is one from Sinclair but it cost $140 plus shipping. That is more than I am going to spend as I have a floor model tripod that will work. I was thinking some of you guys may have made one and could give me some ideas. Thanks Don

The center stem is probably removeable from your existing tripod.
I took mine out and duct taped a 4" c-clamp to it. So I could use a video
Camera in my deer stand.
This way you can take the tape off and put it back on your tripod, without any damage or extra cost.

This doesn't clamp to the bench, but it is very steady. Uses a welded short tripod and a good window mount clamp.

I am a "Bench-Rest" shooter & have been for yrs. A spotting scope is either the Best or worst thing you can have....The best if you have a good stand.......its a must! or can be a *** with a poor stand. Regards Ernie

Built one using a woodworkers C clamp. I had a section of 1/2" brass rod. Drilled two holes through both the rod and clamp. drilled threaded and tapped the hole for 1/4x20 and stuck an adjustable camera stand head on it. After that all you do is open up the c clamp and tighten up on whatever surface you wish to mount your spotting scope. Frank
