The cactus flowers are now in full bloom. These appeared on the cacti in our front yard. The bees are everywhere, making that great cactus flower honey that's in high demand around these parts. The air is full of pollen, but since I don't have allergies, I'm OK with that. I breath easy, because....

We share a lot...I too just finished my taxes, about an hour on Turbo Tax (a very simple return), and as noted spring has sprung. Hard to beat the high Sonoran Desert in springtime. The extreme cold we had last February did a number on the local flora but just about everything survived and is growing/blooming.
 
Another annual indication that Spring has sprung is the local news notices that "snake removal" requests have begun anew, as rattlers emerge from Winter dens and begin dispersing ... Last Saturday's trip to Apache Lake, along the Apache Trail, revealed numerous species in bloom --- brittle bush, and other yellow-flowered annuals, vivid purple hedgehog cacti, vermillion penstemon varieties and ocotillo, all embellishing a temporarily verdant ground cover of grasses and forbs. Because of abundant winter rains, there's been a pretty good greenup, good for Gambel quail recruitment, but harbinger of ferocious fires when it all dries up and becomes tinder...
 
Your right about spring being in full bloom, my nose hasen't stopped running for the past two weeks. :mad:
