Wilson and Wolff used them both, both work.

I've used Wolff in my 686. I replaced the mainspring with the Type-2 rib (low power) and the rebound spring with a 14#.

The Type-2 mainspring doesn't fire CCI primers 100% reliably - I had 1 misfire in 100. It fired on the 2nd try. Of course, Federal primers are 100% reliable, I haven't tried any others in it.

Jerry Miculek's "Trigger Job" video is a good place to start. Lots of spring kits can work well. You have to use parts that suit your application. Alot of our forum experts criticize aftermarket spring kits because they get lite strikes (no bang) which can be fixed with a longer strain screw or better yet by throwing away the stock strain screw and replacing it with a set screw (8-32) and loctite, using it as a tuning adjustment (same as trimming a stock strain screw but allowing more adjustment because you can't wish a stock strain screw to be longer). Big thing is setting up the spring balance for your ammo and smooting the internal parts.
