OK, here's the scoop.
I have my grandpas Springfield Arms 12g double barrel. Is Springfield Arms the same as Springfield Armory or are they two separate companies? There is no crossed cannons and it does have a town name like Chikopee Mass.

It was Savage-Stevens-Springfield. Has absolutely nothing to do with the Springfield Armory, which was a U.S. Gov't owned and operated facility.

Savage Arms produced guns under their parent name along with arms carrying the names Stevens and Springfield. Top of the line got the Savage monicker. Plainer more utilitarian guns carried the Stevens or Springfield name. It's like General Motors making Cadillac, Buick and Chevrolet cars. I don't think that they have produced anything using the Springfield name in some years.
