Hi; I was wondering if anyone here has ever sent anything back to Springfield for warranty work. Does it really take 2-3 months to get your firearm back?

Springfield has some of the best customer service in the industry.
It kinda depends on what you need. Several years ago I had a 1911 that I sent in for a warranty repair. They had it fixed and back in 8 days.
I sent a M1A in for some custom work. That did take two months.
Generally, most repairs are handled very well.

Thank you sir. Because I'm going to send mine in because I think the barrel "bushing" has worn to quick, as the barrel slops around in the "hole" in the slide. I will call them Monday morn. and see what they say Thanks again

That doesn't sound good. How many rounds?

100 rounds Winchester white box 115gr. and 50 rounds 124gr.

No manufacturer is perfect, but maybe it was not so bad that I bought a Belgian Hi-Power right before the Ruger copy came out?

This thread needs pics and more details. How is accuracy with this "slop" ?

"Slops around" while locked up before
firing or when slide is locked back?

When it is locked up. You can put your finger in and wiggel the barrel up and down and side to side. I looked at my Browning HP and it is nice and snug.(it has thousands of rounds thru it).

It took 5-6 weeks to get mine back. Parts availability was what caused delays.

I sent mine back Monday. Seems like covid screwed a lot of things up. I was looking at a Girson HP copy this morning, they seem like a nice gun for the price.

I recently bought one of the new Girsan P35 PI models. Its their commander version of the Hi-Power. Its a well made gun. But the trigger absolutely sucked! Gritty and an inconsistent roughly 10 lb pull. It took some work, but I got it clean and smooth although still slightly heavy. I can live with it.
Overall, I do think its a good gun for the money. ;)

Grayfox... I sure do like that short version. If Springfield cant get my SA 35 right, I might sell it and get one of those.

Shooter-2, 150 rounds is not enough to wear a barrel or bushing to sloppiness. No way, no how. My SA-35 is the same as far as a rather "relaxed" fit of barrel to slide when in battery. I did some measuring. It was this way the day I received it. I've owned a number of FN/Browning Hi Powers since the '60s. The FN/Brownings do have a better barrel to bushing fit than my SA-35. The SA-35 probably should not shoot worth a darn. But with several hundreds of rounds through mine, and shooting from the bench, I was able to shoot a 1 1/2" 5-shot group at 15 yards. Certainly not a great distance. But 15 yards is the distance both Colt and Wilson Combat use to demonstrate the accuracy of their pistols. So for a basic service type pistol, I guess I won't gripe too much about barrel fit or accuracy of my particular SA-35. Far more important to me, is that with a thousand rounds or so through mine, zero malfunctions...YMMV
