A good friend was kind enough to send one my way as a gift for the Labor Day weekend.

1) I switch to tip up carry. My preference.

2) The G10 scales feel perfect as far grip and ergos. Simple but excellent.

3) The S30V blade is scalpel sharp. One of the sharpest out of the box knives I have ever used.

4) The tip has an awesome point to it. You can definitely used it for some "toothpicking".

5) The new oversize lanyard hole is great. I added a lanyard to it with ease.

6) I was out taking photographs this AM. I needed to remove some foliage/twigs to get the needed shot. The Para 2 sliced thru whatever it touched.

7) It is one of the smoothest opening knives that I now own. The ease of deployment is excellent.

8) The compression lock on the top of the knife is brilliant. I can open and close...with the blade falling away from my fingers...with one hand.

9) A lot of knife for around $100.

It sounds as if you have a very good friend there, enjoy that guy. I often wanted to get a good to really good pocket style knife, but with my history of loosing or giving knives away I keep putting it off.

That's a nice knife. I used to buy Spydercos. I've still got four or five. I like them because they keep an edge and never rust. I tend to loose nice knives. I draw the financial line for a pocket knife at $50. It used to be that many Spyderco knives fell into that category, not so anymore. I now have a problem with arthritis in my thumbs that keeps me from using the Spyderco opening system, so I've gone to assisted opening knives. I'm not a big knife fighter or anything but it's handy to be able to open the thing with one hand when your holding a string to cut or something. I've got a problem with clip knives. If I stick it in a back pocket by the clip it puts a hole in the truck seat. If I put a knife in a front pocket by the clip when I sit down it pushes the knife up off the clip and when I get out of the truck the knife hits the ground. My neighbor found my knife in my driveway a month ago and returned it.
