I have googled and read a few threads on this but didnt come up with anything conclusive.
I just got a Smith 610 no-dash 5" which has an "F" on the rear cylinder face.
My no dash 610 6.5" (as well as 686 no dash, 617 4" and 6" no dash) all have a "V" stamped on the back of the cylinder face.
Is this correct, or was this a cylinder that is not original from the factory? I read another string saying another gent had a 610 5" with an "F" so hopefully mine is correct, I just dont understand the difference.
Thanks in advance for any education on this one.
