Hello,

I have the Standard Catalog of Smith Wesson 4th edition in electronic form.
Would someone tell me the page number to determine the manufactured date for a specific Model 49 revolver?

Thank you.

The model description for the steel frame Bodyguard (Model 49) is on page 253. The serial number list for the J frames is on page 489. In combination, that will get you in the ball park, but keep in mind that the serial number will not tell you with any degree of certainty when your revolver left the factory.

I did not realize there was an electronic version. I may be that far behind times. Is it an AP or a downloadable version? How do I get it?

I asked Rick about the electronic version of the 4th..He said it was flawed, use the 3rd it seems to be better....Lets ask Rick if they've fixed the 4th...

Thank you. It turns out the electronic version has different page numbers. But I did find the table.

Would 11J514 be year 1983 ?
