Heading to the range this afternoon I spotted the striped tomato as Paul Michael Glaser referred to it lol. Looking at the plate I wonder if it refers to the 490 Cleveland motor?

For you Denver area guys it was in Centennial on Arapahoe Rd.

**Ooops, got the plate wrong, thank you s&w chad that makes total sense!**

I believe the plate refers to 460 Cobra Jet Police Interceptor.

A friend had one when I was in high school. The first time he took me for a ride, I got out and threw up!

Years ago I read an interview with Glaser where he said he hated the car, handled horribly-I believe he referred to the "hero" car used for the beauty shots, not the others for stunts. That show is where I first became aware of the model 59, never paid much attention to it in the gunshops. I had a 4" Python, not Hutch's 6", at the time and a few Colt 1911s (which I think they used in the pilot, need to check imfdb).

I had a ‘73 GT with a 351 Cleveland, great motor, in the late 70’s. Blue, white vinyl top, white interior. It was stolen right ifo my apt building.

I had an "official" Starsky and Hutch toy gun set. Of course they made it up from what they had already. So, I had a nice S&W 29 and a 1911 Colt full size plastic guns. Not that I cared. I just thought they were cool on their own. The Starsky and Hutch part was meh.

That show was a spinoff; the original was better. The original was about two furniture store security guards, Staircase and Hutch. Ugh...lame joke I know.

neighbor had a blue one with a 302.. always wanted that one.. I went off to college and when I came back for Christmas it was gone.. never saw it again... still want one... just not this one.. lol

Great show! I love it! Each season is different. The first season is pretty edgy and violent by TV standards of the day. The Lalo Schifrin theme music for season one added to that edginess.

Most people are more familiar with the funky, almost disco, later themes by Mark Snow, etc.
The show got funnier later on, too.
David Soul, with his leather jacket and Colt Python set the bar for cool TV cops.

It was great seeing David Soul in Magnum Force, too. Although that movie was released before S&H, I was too young to see the movie until later. It says a lot for his acting ability that he could convincingly play both a villian and a hero in such otherwise similar roles.

I also loved SWAT! Great show!

Of course, since my mom hated these shows and movies that just made them more appealing!

Blasphemy, you should get a 10 ban for this . . . . . :ROFLMAO:

My hunting buddies and I watched that show. We called it "Blasky & Skutch".

Never knew a vehicle that sounded like it was going 100 mph while doing 35 on a city street.

High school buddy tried spinning his moms new Grenada around like Starsky and broke the front suspension. That boy caught heck from momma
