Scott is clueless, Chittenden Cty. progs run the state. The only thing about this that surprises me is that he didn't include an exemption for Thunder Road, so he can spend his weekends driving in circles and winning trophies by veering to the left. Meanwhile, I'm hoping someone shows up today at the gun shop I have two pistols at so I can get them out before 5.

Can a transfer be done in Vermont between non-FFL’s
Does Vermont allow curio and relic purchases?
If either of the above, the correct statement is that Vermont has banned retail storefront gun purchases

First N.J. now Vermont, is that how it all begins? Just practice for
the next event the govt. says is a crisis.

Well, you just never know what's coming down the pike and where it's coming from, do you?

Wake County, N.C. Sheriff Gerald Baker said Tuesday that he was suspending applications for pistols and concealed carry firearms until April 30 after seeing a “250 percent increase in demand” for permits since the coronavirus pandemic.

And more here.

Gun and ammo sales are still booming in Mecklenburg County.

The large gun shops in Charlotte...Hyatt's, Carolina Sporting Arms, and Blackstone are all reporting record crowds and sales, and so far there's no indication those businesses will be required to close, even though Mecklenburg County goes on stay-at-home status March 26.

Yes to everything you asked. I just returned from the shop I had two pistols in. He is staying open until some authority figure walks in and forces the issue. He also said that law suits are being filed today. I bought some more ammo that I could have done without to offer some financial and moral support.

Lots of monkey see monkey do in this part of the country.

All of 'em dance to the same tune everywhere.

Well, I think it's great that the King of...I mean the governor of Connecticut has allowed gun shops to remain open due to their essential nature. I'm sure those folks will be eternally grateful for being allowed to put food on their table and provide for their families.

Our own Governor Roy Blooper has also given his blessing for the state's gun shops to remain open (so far) and allow businessmen and women to earn a living in accordance with the laws of the state and nation. All this while he's whining that it's been a "complete failure" on the part of the feds regarding how to deal with the crisis. Of course, hundreds (thousands) of other businesses statewide have been forced to close and those employers required to lay off or fire employees, depriving thousands of working people their Constitutional right to work and provide for their own families. So much for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I wonder if the NRA will praise this state's governor? That'd sure be a comfort to the thousands of the newly unemployed.

I believe state governors...and to some extent, county officials...are overstepping the bounds of their authority with these little executive orders for businesses to shut down for an indefinite period of time. They'll say it's only until April 15, or April 30, or whenever, but that's just to give citizens a faint hope that the end is in sight. It's kinda like power outages and the power company's recorded messages of "We expect your power to be restored by 1:30 a.m." But the next time you call to check on it, the time's been pushed back another x-number of hours.

I believe some of the actions by state and county officials will end up doing more damage than the virus, itself. That's my opinion. Others may differ.

WHEREAS!

It does not specifically include or exclude Firearms stores. It is a very broad brush and either includes all business or it doesn't

Firearms could be considered "safety"

Gun shops should get a bunch of hammers, screwdrivers and other hardware items, put up a sign Guns and Hardware and then be all set!

“These businesses....are encouraged to develop business strategies, procedures and practices such as... on-line orders for curb-side pick-up and delivery.”

So I can order on line with my credit card and provide info for background check and go through my favorite gun store’s drive in window to pick up my new firearm? Yes, I’d have to provide ID and fill out the paper work at the window. Or maybe the store will offer home delivery. Great idea Governor!

Funny how Northram was lauded by some as exercising his powers during the recent protests in VA. When in fact the Constitution says the 2A is not to be infringed.
Now, the governors are tyrants. Sigh.

Same here in WA. Anyplace selling guns and ammo are considered non-essential, and shut down effective 5pm today.

Of course all the pot dispensaries and liquor stores are open.

Being able to protect yourself and exercise your 2A rights aren't essential, but staying stoned and drunk while you sit around at home, now THAT is essential!

Probably because the "sin" tax on dope & booze is 38% on top of the nearly 9% sales tax.

Guess the tax revenue IS essential - to the state.
