Offered for select members of this forum, a Stelzig Saddlery holster for the S&W 38/44 HD with a 4" barrel. "STELZIG SADDLERY CO. HOUSTON, TEXAS" stamped in oval, then "38 44".
In1870, Austrian immigrant Anton Stelzig Jr. started his first Saddle Shop outside of Houston, Texas. He established a reputation as a superior saddle maker, known for "Dependable Leather Goods" and his family members continued the business after his death.
I believe this basket-weave and border tooled holster was made sometime in the 1940's and would be a worthy display companion for your treasured 38/44 HD. Holster has a double welt, is fully lined and has a safety strap with snap. I am not in favor of the location of the safety strap because it makes holstering the revolver somewhat difficult, but with practice once the revolver is properly inserted in the holster the strap works fine. Holster appears to be in good unmodified condition as shown. My 38/44 is shown for illustration of fit.
Price is $45.00 shipped - personal check or USPS Money Order.
