He just opened a restaurant here in Nashville a couple weeks ago. RIP Steve. Nashville will miss you.

lets look at this,,,ex football player, from the picture, i never heard of him, and in a condo, probably had money, with a woman that is not his wife,,,,ya think drugs might be involved

Ex NFL player + condo + money + girlfriend = drugs? It happens, but I think it would be out of character for McNair. I have my own idea, but I'll let the police figure out what really happened.

And AGAIN, I will make no comments until ALL the facts are in. I know this much. He was born and raised and played high school football just up the road from here in Mt. Olive,Miss. He parcipitated in numerous football camps in this area and has a son who plays for a team in this area. I don't know what happened in Nashville because I'm not there. I don't know or care what his marital status is. What I do know is that he is considered a role model around here and I hope nothing changes that.

I think it is a murder/suicide. McNair was shot mulitple times, girlfriend once with gun found near her.

I had thought murder/suicide. And the morning paper seems to confirm it. The police haven't actually called it that. At least not that I know of. The young girl friend, I think she was 20, was pretty messed up, emotionally. I doubt that all the facts will ever be known, but I believe Steve may have been trying to break things off with her, to remain with his wife. But, like I said, all the facts will never be known. So sad, for both the families.
I'd also like to add, I am very disgusted with some of the comments made about Steve on some of the internet sites today. His personal life and marriage were just that. Personal. And to suggest that he somehow deserved what happened is ridiculous. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I agree that's what it sounds like.
He's shot multiple times, woman only once and the gun is near the woman.
The media used to report something like this as an 'apparent suicide', but this time, for some reason, everyone seems to be dancing around it.
Maybe past litigation, or threats of it, have caused the media to change behavior.

If the girl friend's husband or boy friend did it, SHE'D be the one shot multiple times.
My money is on the scenario in which he's breaking up with her and she's not buying it.
