If anyone here is familiar with all three items of info listed in the title--read on. A few days ago I dug out my dvd copy of: Hell Is For Heroes w/Steve McQueen and Fess Parker. Ive seen this movie at least one hundred times during the years and never tire of this masterpiece of a movie.

Anyway, those who have a favorite movie who watch them every time it comes on--will begin to notice things that you never noticed before--like I just did during this last viewing of "Heroes." The newest thing that gotme--has the Star Trek connection.

The person who appeared in "Heroes" was one of the main Trek actors--who before Heroes was made--was already known for making movies, movie serials and such. This man also had an few appearences in COMBAT--first season I thinK??? Anyway,he was fairly known by the time H.I.F.H. came out but--he is given zero credits for even being in the movie--even as a background extra.

The scene he was in was the only scene he was in.The scene was when their Company was moving into a bombed out Church before they were moving back on the front lines. Watch for Steve McQueen wearing his netted helmet walking into the Church and as he nears the camera--the man directly behind him was none other than an unbilled: Mr.Spock--Leonard Nimoy.

This movie is one of those perfect movies that one may wish would never have ended. The only and so VERY minor ""flaw"'I saw in that movie--was when they used that crappy Warner Brothers//Fox Studios--mix of garbage German rank insignia. Also the ugly over-sized breast eagles on German tunics. They had enlistedrank insignia ::shoulderboards:: mixed with officers collartabs :; on enlistedmans tunics:: Other than that flaw--that movie is perfect.

Anyway, for you fans of Nimoy--add this to your list.

ringo, you never fail to amaze us. Or please us.

I'm never happy with uncredited appearances. They force me to wrack my brain to ID the performer. Remember Jaime Sanchez, who played bandit Angel in "Wild Bunch?" Though I saw him briefly uncredited as a cop in the locker room in "Serpico" and it was Sanchez!

Also the final scenes in that flick, with an uncredited F. Murray Abraham playing a detective who allowed Serpico to be shot (That was some car: 2 Oscar winners inside!). Judd Hirsch, also uncredited, as a police lieutenant. Tony Lo Bianco also uncredited (Why? An acknowledged performer.), but I'll have to watch it again to look for him.

Heh heh,I aim to please.

There is another hispanic actor who was pretty popular when he was a Teen in the fifties. He was promanent in: The Blackboard Jungle--as one of the punks in Vic Morrows gang.I cant think of his name off-hand? but--I saw him in an episode or two of: The A team--unbilled and uncredited on IMDB--and saw himin a few episodes of the V series. Wish I could remember his name--he isnt a bad actor.

Ive seen some others too--like in: The Longest Day. Ill have to rewatch that one again soon to remember who I spotted--unbilled and unrecognized at IMDB.

I'd bet that many of the unbilled performances are nothing more than a chance to make a few bucks, yet add that movie to your resume.

Remember the geeky 2nd Lt in the Clint Eastwood movie "Heartbreak Ridge"? That is Boyd Gaines, primarily a stage actor,(Tony Award winner too) not in a lot of movies. His wife is the daughter of a friend from MT and we know Mr. Gaines through the Family. Nice guy by the way.

During a conversation he gave me a rundown of movies and TV spots he'd been in and the list was LONG. For the reason I stated above. Adds to the resume. Also stated he enjoyed making Heartbreak and that Eastwood was a decent guy, friendly but a hell of a director/producer who expected the best from his people.

I have a copy of Hell is for Heros on VHS, but it's not one of my favorites. Never noticed Nimoy in it . . . may have to pull it out and blow the dust off for another look. :)

I've always liked the image of the Grease Gun. And especially in this movie with McQueen taping two magazines together.
Here's one, Ringo. What's the Bill the Kid/Pat Garrett/Roswell alien crash connection? Well, Garrett got famous for killing the Kid. Garrett had a house in Roswell for a while. The guy who shot Garrett in the back of his head (in self defense and acquitted) while he was urinating was Wayne Brazil. A guy named Brazil found the debris in the desert at the now famous Roswell "alien crash site". And I don't know why i waste time thinking of this stuff.

Rafael Ramos - Lots of TV and movie appearances. Passed away in 1985. Great Hispanic character actor.

Its worth the look anyways. :) Also, I THINK I've spotted Nimoy in The Longest Day, but its been a long time and will just ''need'' to watch that again. :D:D

Oh and, I've spotted James Caan as a German soldier in Kelly's Heroes.

Ever see "Zombies.......

Ever see "Zombies of the Stratosphere", one of the 'rocket man' serials. He has a small part with lines as the head Martian's flunkie. I think it was his first credited role.

One of my favorite pre-Trek roles of his was in "The Outer Limits" episode 'I Robot' where played a journalist following a groundbreaking story of a robot accused of murder.

I have seen and had that serial on vhs at one time. He's been in a few early COMBAT any Twilight Zone episodes and I THINK in one or two EPs of--WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE. He was also in one of the Flash Gordon serials too---uncredited.

He was a lieutenant leading a group (?} of soldiers. I THINK it had something to do with being ruthless when he didn't have to be until the shoe (boot) was on the other foot.

Good reference. Was that the episode where the character switched sides between American and Japanese? IIRC, the GIs had to reduce a Japanese position in a cave. Never understood that episode, but that was The Twilight Zone.

It's a rough business. Many talented people don't succeed. But everyone can sing and dance, and everyone knows all of Shakespeare's plays.

Nah, he was just a dogface. The LT was the second half of that fairly recent time travel show--I forget the name off-hand but--he was the one who tweaked some device and he and the other guy would be sent somewhere. His character could only be seen and heard by the other. Ach soooo--QUANTUM LEAP. I cant think of the actors name? Dean Stockwell???? maybe?? Oh and, that was the one where he was an American butterbar-who somehow got switched to be a Japanese LT--who was ruthess towards Americans traped ibn that cavep=--only--he wa the only one who saw he wasnt Japanese.
