I ventured out to see the new Matt Damon movie, Stillwater, yesterday.

I was pleasantly surprised there was very few people in the theater but also shocked and somewhat disappointed. Surprised because I could take off my mask and relax but shocked because this is a great movie.

If you get the chance and like a movie where you have a plot, some great acting and a clear beginning and end, this one would be for you.

If you are looking for a Jason Bourne character and a bunch of special effects and action scenes then I would not waste your time on this one.

Matt Damon gives the best performance I have ever seen out of him and really does a good job portraying his character.

I won't get into the controversy over the movie and whether it is a rip off of Amanda Knox's life story or not because the daughter character, who is in the French prison, is not a major portion of the movie itself. Very crucial to the plot but the crime, etc... is not really what the movie is about.

It centers around the struggles of life and is summed up with a line that Damon's character utters "Life Is Brutal".

If you have the time and want to see an Oscar worthy performance I would recommend this one.

Looks good to me. WaPo critic liked it, but NYT critic panned it saying it was trite. On the whole, I don't put a lot of stock in movie critics, though. Sometimes they'll love stuff that I think awful, and vice versa.

I’m interested in it. Like his work.

It's interesting watching actors develop over lifetime, from "What's this l'il pipsqueak doing in this movie?!," to the every-now-and-then "Damn, that is one fine actor" when they reach maturity.

I've read a couple of interviews with Damon. He seems a humble, commonsensical guy who likes to keep out of the limelight.

Ive always liked Matt Damon's acting. Will be checking this out for sure
