Stocks on the 44 Magnum 1956-1975

The photos below show stocks used on 44 Magnums from 1956-1966 (special oversize stocks made of Goncalo alves), 1966-1968 (diamond target stocks made of Goncalo alves), 1969-1974 (target stocks made of Goncalo alves with wood forming a reverse curve where the stocks meet the trigger guard), and 1975-1982 (wood in area of the trigger guard has been reduced). The last photo is of a pair of coke bottle stocks made by Keith Brown sixteen years ago :).

Great photos, as usual.

I'm curious whether the N-frame stocks in 1968 went through a transition from diamond to no-diamond with a similar checking pattern as the diamond stocks before going to a smaller checking pattern. We did see that transition briefly on Chiefs Specials of 1968.
