Stove pipes

Does anyone know why 2 model 41's would both have a stove pipe using

CCI SV ammo? One pistol is 30 years old the other 10 years old. The

springs are original. It has only happened once in each pistol this Sunday.

The consistency of .22 ammo is well known for being inconsistent. It may have been gunk build up if toward the end of your session. I know my Glock 30 .22 adapter will have some miscues after 75-80 round are run through it. A wiping with a cloth and a drop of lube will get it running reliably again.

If it only happened once with either gun, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Give both a good cleaning and lubing and try again. If it continues, switch brands/type (If you can find it), and maybe consider replacing recoil springs if it continues.

Per OldAFVet - complete cleaning - make sure the extractors are working free and good spring pressure. Although back pressure functions bolt/slide, the extractor helps support case for ejection.

I agree with everything about the ammo, dirt and springs. But if you still have problems you need to get a good firm grip on the firearm. See weak wrist stove piping on center fires more than rim fires but the women I teach, I'm a NRA Training Councilor, the pistol will stove pipe at times. Just an extra thought.
